May 25: Frustrated by the continued bad weather—a stationary storm over Canada has caused endless rain and wind over our area for the best part of a week (and there was another one before that); the forecast is for more of the same for most of the upcoming week—I nonetheless put both of my C-8's on the front of my camera, switched it into macro mode, and went warbler hunting. Here is my reward: yet another kind of warbler, a blackpoll warbler. The bluish tinge on parts of this photograph are the result of the extreme magnification with a backlighted subject. |
