Canada Geese live in New Jersey year round in great numbers; indeed there are so many that most of the time I ignore them except to search flocks for occasional infiltrators (such as Greater White-fronted, Ross's Goose, and Pink-footed Goose). Snow Geese and Brant spend their winters here. There's a small number of Egyptian Geese that seem to wander up and down the state. Geese are among the least skittish of birds, often coming towards me in the hope I'll feed them. |
