This was the highlight of our visit. We think the adult bird was trying to give the youngster a sense of what flying is all about by carrying the youngster on its back. This picture brings to mind those shots you see of the space shuttle being carried by a 747. They didn't actually leave the nest, but the adult bobbed up and down with the youngster on its back.
