I was immediately distracted from my main purpose when I saw that one of the ospreys was perched on the nearest tower, the one with the nest. This made it much more accessible to my camera, particularly in view of the excellent light and the fact that I had both Canon teleconverters on the front.

However, once again, nothing happened for a long time and I eventually moved on to seek out the yellow bird on the extreme south side of the park where we'd seen it yesterday.
