Unfortunately, the lighting conditions were even worse than last time, so most of my shots were blurry. If you're not familiar with this bird, you might have some trouble determining its size from these pictures. It is a large bird. Its body is about the same size as a female mallard duck (of which there were plenty in attendance, but they were giving the heron a wide berth).
