May 10: This picture is either terrible or wonderful depending on your point of view. I had the camera fully zoomed again, just like the last picture. I was downstream from the duckpond. The bird is a black throated blue warbler. It's tiny. It never stops moving for more than a moment or two. Had I not had the camera set up the way it is, the bird would have been completely out of focus because the camera would have latched on to an intervening branch, but the added zoom allowed me to laster through the foliage (although that odd green shape in front of the bird is an out-of-focus leaf). I watched this bird for a quarter of an hour desperately trying to get the camera actually pointing at it. This was my one success. This was the first time I'd ever seen this kind of bird.
