Horned Grebe—HOGR

This small bird pops up in a number of places along the Jersey Shore, but it seldom comes close enough for really good photographs. The waters between the slips at Belmar Marina proved to be a good place for getting close-ups like this.

I've also seen Horned Grebes in the bay at Sandy Hook and in the ocean off Allenhurst Jetty.
