Regular but uncommon winter visitor to the waters off the New Jersey coast. I’ve seen just one bird in October 2018 on two consecutive days at Parking Lot C in the waters just north of the rocks at the water’s edge.

The bird immediately looked over its shoulder to check me out givng me the chance to capture its face.
