New Jersey is a haven for these birds. Some stay all year while many choose to winter here spending their summers further north. Some are so numerous and ubiquitous I almost ignore them: I'm thinking of Mallard ducks, Mute Swans, and Canada Geese. Others are seen rarely and I'm lucky to have any pictures at all, while other birds with "common" in their name hardly seem common at all. There are ocean ducks and lake ducks. Some are seen at both habitats. |
